The Jazz Station Big Band is the in-house band of Brussels' famous jazz club, the Jazz Station. Formed in 2006, it features 14 great soloists, including its own arrangers.
The Moods album was recorded in the legendary Jet Studio, Brussels, with its unique, impeccable acoustics in September 2020. This album shows how happy they are to get together and play again to finally record their work, with the energy of a lion just released from its cage.
This recording features nine original tracks composed and arranged by some of the band members: Stéphane Mercier, François Decamps, Steven Delannoye, Jean Paul Estiévenart. One of the advantages of having several composers in the band is the diversity achieved in the repertoire. Indeed, the range is very broad: swing (A Mood, Mixed Feelings), ballads (Ma Elle, Amazing Angel's Life), grooves (Route 166, Don't Butt in Line) and African rhythms (Artichoke Facial). The arrangements are bold, full of invention and composed measures. We travel through beautiful landscapes, never tiring and always interesting with a touch of madness. The band also features some of Belgium's finest soloists.
