For several years now, Mathieu Robert has been specializing in soprano saxophone, developing his personality in a wide range of projects, from solo to big band.
Mario Ganau is a Sardinian pianist, composer and teacher, with a degree in jazz piano from the "G.P. da Palestrina" Conservatory of Cagliari (Italy).
The Robert - Ganau duo was born out of the desire to explore their common interests: the music of Ellington and Monk, free improvisation, counterpoint and various sound paintings.
This laboratory quickly became an intimate, trusting place in which both musicians could delve into their own personal histories. Their original repertoire goes on expanding, projecting a soothing music full of discovery, emotion and poetry.
